Welcome to the European Schoolnet Academy
As primary or secondary school teacher, you can benefit from the online professional development courses that we are offering on the European Schoolnet Academy to learn about innovation in the school and classroom, and enhance your teaching practice.
Through our courses, you have the opportunity to see and discuss what is happening in other classrooms and schools across Europe. The courses will provide you with introductions to key pedagogical concepts and ideas that are relevant to developing your teaching practice. These concepts and ideas are then illustrated through examples from everyday classroom practice. At the core of the courses stands the exchange between teaching practitioners and the creation of an online community of professionals who reflect on and exchange about the course topics.
We hope that by attending these courses and by engaging with your peers and experts you will feel empowered and inspired to try out something new in your practice.
The European Schoolnet Academy is very much an experiment and we rely on your participation and feedback to make this project a success. So please use this opportunity, learn and connect with your peers and let us know what you think.
We look forward to seeing you on one of the courses! Happy learning...
The European Schoolnet Academy team
Who are we?
European Schoolnet is the network of 30 European Ministries of Education, based in Brussels. As a not-for-profit organisation, we aim to bring innovation in teaching and learning to our key stakeholders: Ministries of Education, schools, teachers, researchers, and industry partners.
Since its founding in 1997, European Schoolnet has provided teachers across Europe with a wealth of resources, activities, communities, tools, and events for them to enhance their teaching practice, learn new tools and skills, and make effective use of educational technologies.
The Future Classroom Lab, a fully equipped, reconfigurable, teaching and learning space developed in our Brussels premises, has been at the forefront of European Schoolnet's continuing professional development opportunities for teachers. Regular workshops, seminars and courses on innovative teaching and learning processes are continuously organised there.
We decided to launch the European Schoolnet Academy to build on these successful experiences and make our training opportunities available to a greater number of primary and secondary school teachers across Europe.
Our ambition is to convert the content and expertise that we developed under European Schoolnet's projects and activities in massive online training opportunities for teachers. In the long-term we foresee to offer the infrastructure for online professional development also to Ministries of Education to host their own courses.
