Miriam Molina - Course Coordinator

(Early Years Education / Project Coordination and Pedagogy) works as a Project and Pedagogical Coordinator in the Science Education Department of European Schoolnet (EUN). Miriam oversees the day-to-day coordination of the Life Terra and Accelerating Teaching projects. She supports Scientix and the NBS EduWORLD project in coordinating and developing teachers’ training activities.

Michalina Partyga - Course Coordinator

Michalina Partyga works as a Project Officer in the Science Education Department of European Schoolnet (EUN). Michalina assists with the Life Terra and Accelerating Teaching projects where she coordinates teachers’ activities, designs MOOCs, and organizes professional development activities for teachers. She also supports Scientix Ambassadors and STEM School Label.

Marina Tomara - Course Moderator

Marina is a secondary school science teacher, with almost twenty years of teaching experience and currently the head of school at Lower Secondary School of Kouvaras in Greece. She received her PhD from the Department of Communication & Media Studies at University of Athens in Greece, working on Augmented Reality design and development of science learning experiences. She also holds a MEd in Information and Communication Technologies for Education, an MSc in Electronics & Radioelectrology and a BSc in Physics. Her professional interests include innovative, digitally enhanced practices in science education and she is passionate about hands-on, playful science learning.

Behind the course

Accelerating Teaching is founded to deliver a massive online open course (MOOC) where teachers can use self-directed learning to increase their knowledge and understanding of the role of large research facilities in 21st century research, and specifically on how accelerator-based facilities are used by researchers to increase knowledge.

Scientix, the community for science education in Europe, promotes and supports a Europe-wide collaboration among STEM teachers, education researchers, policymakers and other STEM education professionals.
