Taking part in a MOOC is more than reading the course materials. In a social MOOC, like this one, learning is not a solitary activity. Learning is a journey you take, together with others. The input in this course will not only come from the course designers, but also from you and other participants and from resources outside the course itself.

A handy tool for your journey is your own digital Learning Diary, a collection of your reflections on the course, as well as information personally relevant to you. A good Learning Diary will provide you with a summary of the course at a later stage and focus your attention on those areas that are especially important to you. It will contain useful links you have added and selected for later use. A good Learning Diary will also show that you have reflected on the questions introduced during the course and that you have engaged with the ideas of others on the course.

Ideally your Learning Diary will be in English so that, if you want to share it, others can view it. However, if you are not so confident in English, feel free to write parts of it in your native language.

Please check out this collection of tools that you can use for your Diary.

Although it is most of all for you, we encourage you to share your Learning Diary online, but don’t feel you have to!

Please post the URL (web address) of your Learning Diary here. Don’t worry if yours is still at an early stage. We will not publish the list outside this course and will share the list at the end of the course only with the course participants.
