Neda Mađarac is an experienced educator, project manager, and instructional designer dedicated to fostering European citizenship education. With extensive experience in Erasmus+ projects and curriculum development, she has designed innovative teaching materials that promote inclusion, critical thinking, and active citizenship. As founder of TeacherLab Croatia and senior project manager at Prios Norway, Neda develops educational resources and MOOCs that emphasize democratic values, human rights, and youth engagement, contributing to a more inclusive and participatory European society.
Workshop: Teaching Europe: Classroom Practice

During this workshop, we will explore how to implement a European perspective across the curriculum. A group of teachers who participated in the validation of the Learning Scenarios will showcase their experience participating in the Teach Europe project, and will share their advice on how to implement the project’s pedagogical materials. We will discuss how and why teaching for Europe is relevant nowadays, and how can the Learning Scenarios of Teach Europe boost your teaching practice. To close the event, representatives from the European Council will present the Council’s Educational resources platform for teaching, learning and playing, to showcase further resources you can use in your practice.
Rafael Montero is a STEM teacher at a Spanish School (www.codema.es). He strongly believes in developing scientific vocations among his students and has been involved in many European STEM and Erasmus+ projects. He is an eTwinning, Scientix and FCL ambassador. X: @rafaelmb_1
Dr. Maria Cristina Mocanu is an EFL teacher and trainer in Iași, Romania, where she has been teaching for about seventeen years, carrying out numerous projects on topics ranging from citizenship and social responsibility to media literacy and film studies. She is also a Fulbright TEA alumna, a textbook author, and a constant collaborator of educational NGOs and governmental programs in Romania and worldwide.
Isabel Oliveira was the Portuguese national advisor for European Schoolnet, disseminating information about projects, as well as the ‘pedagogical advisor’ for teachers within the ‘Spring Day for Europe’ and ‘Future Energy’ initiatives. Isabel refers herself as an “Europhile”, teaching the EU's Democratic Values remains as one of her priorities towards students.
Ana Gabriela Freire is a History and Political Science teacher. Throughout her career she has given priority to the values of democracy, the rule of law and human rights. She has dedicated herself to actively embody European citizenship, both trough leading teacher training programs on cultural diversity and by guiding students in Erasmus mobility exchanges focused on environmental education and European values.
Joann Grima teaches European Studies as an optional subject in a secondary school setting and is the Head of Department of the subject. Holding a Masters' degree in European Politics, Economics and Law, she strives to inspire students with a broader understanding of Europe in general and the European Union in particular.
