Eleni Myrtsioti - course coordinator
Eleni Myrtsioti (Literature and communications / Project Coordination and Pedagogy) works as a Project Officer in the Science Education Department of European Schoolnet (EUN). Eleni is involved in Scientix, STEM School Label and STE(A)M IT projects. She supports Scientix by coordinating the Repository of educational resources and the 2020 STEM Discovery Campaign. In STEM School Label she is coordinating the activities of the network of twenty Ambassador STEM Schools providing guidance, mentorship, and resources to help them improve their STEM strategies. In STE(A)M IT she coordinates the activities of the eleven teams of teachers involved the project.
Jelena Milenkovic - course coordinator
(International Education & Policy / Coordination and Pedagogy) Jelena works as a Project Officer in the FCL-SEG Department of European Schoolnet (EUN). She is the coordinator of the European Schoolnet Academy. Since joining European Schoolnet in 2018, Jelena worked as a web editor and MOOC creator for numerous projects, such as Scientix, TIWI, STE(A)M IT.
Sónia Maria Gomes Cerqueira - course moderator
She was born in 1969, in Lisbon, Portugal. In her childhood, she lived a few years in Luanda, Angola. She obtained a degree in Biology - Branch of Scientific and Technological Specialization in Ecology and Zoological Resources, by the University of Porto (FCUP), and was granted a Master in Environmental Engineering - Branch of Water and Wastewater Treatment by the University of Porto (FEUP). She has professional experience in education since 1993 and is a certified trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education, Portugal. Also has working experience in Laboratory and Industry and was co-author of some publications and scientific communications.
Evita Tasiopoulou - Project Manager
(Engineer / Management and Pedagogy) is a Project and Pedagogical Manager of Science projects in the Science Education Department of European Schoolnet.
Her main activities focus on the management of the content in European projects and the provision of pedagogical advice and support to the entire STEM Education Department while her interests focus on STEM education pedagogical trends and the development of curricula, not only European. She is involved in projects linked to School Pilot activities, Structural Reform Support Programmes (SRSP) and innovative pedagogical approaches. She is currently working on SRSP – Greece, SPSP Flanders (Teachers’ induction scheme), and STEAM IT projects.

STE(A)M IT aims to develop and test the 1st Integrated STEM Education conceptual framework and introduce innovative STEM teaching in schools, through the contextualisation of STEM teaching and cooperation with industry, to provide real industrial experiences in STEM teaching in classrooms. STE(A)M IT will bring together Ministries of Education, industry partners, Regional Authorities and practitioners to work together for a common Integrated STE(A)M framework, that will impact Europe as a whole, and ensure its uptake to all countries interested.
Scientix, the community for science education in Europe, promotes and supports a Europe-wide collaboration among STEM teachers, education researchers, policymakers and other STEM education professionals.
